President's Report

Published on 10/2/2018

First of all, for those who attended the Sign-up Picnic.  We were able to fill trips to at least half capacity.  So, we are well on our filling our trips.  A shout out the trip captains and board for another successful event.

The ski season is just around the corner the temperatures are starting to drop, and according to the On The Snow Magazine, the snow forecasts look great.  Big Ski and Whitefish Montana, Colorado including Steamboat are all forecasted to have 90% to 100% of their average snowfall and look great for the early ski season.  It is also looking good for the both Angel Fire, and Taos New Mexico resorts with snowfall amounts up to 120% of their seasonal average.  I see some great conditional on the slopes this year.

This year’s El Niño will bring the winds and moisture further south than the past few years and creating the possibility for above average snowfall this year.

What does all this mean?  First, the base will be a lot deeper allowing for a great foundation for this year’s resorts.  Second, there is the potential for more powder throughout the entire season. And finally, the potential for an awesome ski season.
