Angel Fire Trip

The Angel Fire Trip

What a fun trip.  We had We had a fantastic group, 35 on the bus and 6 drive-ups, for a total of 41 folks on the trip.  Many of were first-timers and quite a few youngsters trying their hand at skiing or boarding.   We loade3d up at the Village Tours terminal and headed out.  We arrived at Angel Fire bright and early and we were able to check into our Condos that morning.

Mother nature cooperated with us during our Angel Fire trip.  Despite a windy Friday that caused the lifts on the front side of the mountain to shut down periodically.  The resort crew provided shuttle services to the back side of the mountain so once there the skiing was great.  The rest of the trip we had overnight snow and sunny “Bluebird days”, making for some awesome conditions, fresh snow overnight sunny days made for some awesome conditions.

We had quite a few new skiers and boarders join us on the trip.  The Mathes and Jones families took lessons and spent the rest of the weekend exploring the rest of the mountain.  The Cooks, Blake, Jake, and Wesley and took lessons from the Ski School and the next day were showing their new-found skills to us all.

Jennifer Mounts, Karla Winterscheidt, Michael Weatherby spent weekend the sheading the Mountain while LisaAnne St Anthony, Adam Stoermer and family spent family time on the slopes in an attempt to hit all the runs.    Terry Gordon and Robert Foster braved the high winds and blowing snow to get as many runs in as they could.  The Stubblefield’s took lesson to hone their skills and off they went exploring the runs. Terry and Kasey Frishkorn hit the slopes and never looked back my guess there was not a run on the mountain they did not hit.

Several folks enjoyed the night skiing and on Sunday the Cook Klan and Mathes crew took s break from the slopes and enjoyed a few hours on the tubing runs.  The goal was to see who could hit the pads at the bottom of the runs.  Not sure who won that contest but my guess is the mats gave them a good run for their money.

We had a great turnout at the Mountain party.  We made a serious dent in the spaghetti as everyone was carbing up for Sundays on the slopes.

We loaded-up in Monday afternoon at 4:30PM and headed home.  With a full day on the slopes Monday the hot pizza was a welcome dinner as we made our way back to Tulsa.  We arrived safely back in Tulsa early Tuesday morning with plenty of time to get to work or school for those brave souls.

Thanks to everyone on the trip you were a great group.  With the mixture of ages and personalities it was a great time.  I hope to see all of you on another trip.  It was a pleasure.
