Daniel Tanner

Daniel Tanner joined the ski club in August 2021.  He found out about the club on Meetup.  His first ski club event was the August Lake Party at Skiatook Lake.  He also came to the OKC white water rafting trip and then showed off his dance skills at the Christmas Snow Ball in December.

Daniel is interested in doing more outdoor activities like hiking and walking so that was his motivation for seeking out the ski club.  He is mainly interested in summer events but is open and plans to go on a ski trip as soon as his schedule allows.  He also joined the club to network, make connections, build new friendships and foster a good community.  Daniel would like to see more local hiking opportunities and maybe some events that involve dancing since he has recently started dance lessons and now enters competitions.

Daniel is a local guy. He graduated from Union H.S. and attended college at Haskell Indian Nation University in Lawrence, KS.  He majored in Business Administration and currently works at Amazon in Owasso in a business capacity.  Some of his hobbies are computer coding, technical skilled sports and board games.

A fun fact about Daniel is that he is a certified national archivist, and his long-term goal would be a career in the field of national archives.  The last book he read is Atlas of the Heart by Brene’ Brown. His first concert was Edward Sharpe and Magnet Zero’s.  If he had to eat one meal for the rest of his life, it would be oatmeal since it is so adaptable, you can add stuff and it is easy to make.

When asked how he thinks we can improve the ski club, he said our virtual awareness would be an area to expand.  He suggested getting our presence out there through Instagram and thought the personal touch could be used to draw in new members.
