Winter Trip Update 2024/2025

It may be getting hot outside but ski season is only 7 months away!!  If you are like me and only enjoy about 2 weeks of summer weather then hopefully this will help you through the coming hot months.

Winter Trip Chair Report

The Tulsa Ski Club 2025 ski destinations have been confirmed!  If you plan on going on more than one trip, look into getting the IKON pass.  All resorts except for Telluride and Red River will be on IKON.

First up will be Winter Park, 1/4-1/8, staying at the Alpenglo Lodge in the town of Winter Park.  It is on the town shuttle route and there are approximately 25 restaurants within a 5 minute walk.  Ski days will be Sunday-Tuesday so this should help decrease the post holiday crowds.   Winter Park will be a great trip to shake off the rust before Flatlands.  It will be available on the website very soon for sign ups.

Second is Telluride for Flatlands, 1/25-1/30.  We will be staying at the Mountain Lodge which is a ski in/ski out property the club has stayed at several times in the past.  Telluride is one of the best ski areas in the country and you do not want to miss it.  Did I mention this is Flatlands?  If memory serves, Tulsa has won this event the last couple of times we came here so, let’s keep it going.  Winning is always fun but the best part about Flatlands is meeting up with old friends and making new ones.

Next up will be a return of the bus trip, 2/22-2/26.  We will be staying at the Riverside Lodge and Cabins in the beautiful town of Red River, NM, with skiing options at both Red River and Taos.  The bus will shuttle those who desire more difficult terrain to Taos every morning.  BUT… due to the high cost of renting a bus, we have to have at least 20 people on this trip or it will be cancelled.  Keep in mind, the more who go, the cheaper it will be so bring all your family and friends.  Red River is a great area for beginner skiers or those who just want to take it easy and enjoy the mountains.  The lodge has a central area where everyone can hang out in the morning and evenings enjoying time with each other.  We hope to have this trip on the website in the next few weeks for sign ups.

Last but certainly not least will be a chance to try two mountains the club has never skied, Red Mountain, BC, Canada and Schweitzer, ID.  You will be flying into Spokane, WA, Saturday 3/8 and drive about 2 hours to Red Mountain, ski 3 days, then drive 3 hours on Wednesday, 3/12, to Schweitzer for 2 additional days of skiing.  This trip offers the opportunity to ski two world class mountains in one week.

More details will be coming soon so check the TSC website frequently.  All trips have limited space so sign up early so you don’t get left behind.
