Great news. The website is up and running with Club Express. The Winter Trips have been finalized and are open for registration. We have opened up the Early Bird Specials through the Signup picnic.
We have some great trips planned beginning with Big Ski Montana 5-12 Jan followed by our Flatlands trip to Steamboat 22-28 Jan, then our family trip to Angel Fire 15 -19 Feb. Finally, Taos Ski Valley New Mexico 28 Feb - 4 Mar.
The several club members just returned from a 3 day white water rafting trip on the Rio Chama River out side Abiqui, New Mexico. On Friday we met at Bode's General Store loaded up our wet bags and headed to the El Vado Ranch launch Point . This year we tried out the Funyaks (Inflatable Kayaks). Through out the we took turns navigating down the river through rapids. Gwen and George took on the rapids like pros. Not to be out done Garry and Brett took to the Funyaks and showed off their skills. Linda and Penny enjoyed the river from the raft watching the scenery go by.
After a day on the river we pulled off the river for the night set up our tents and settled down for dinner and a great time around the campfire.
Day two started with breakfast, loading the rafts and heading down the river for another day of white water and breathtaking scenery. We put in early and the group hiked up into the hill to check out the area.
Day three our guides cooked breakfast, eggs/sausage and eggs/bacon bagels. After loading the rafts and getting underway we rafted down the river and dropped off the equipment raft. The last day we full of class 2 and 3 rapids the water moved quickly and made for some exciting and fun filled day. At the end of the day we met the bus loaded and headed back to Bode's then home. another adventure comes to an end. Looking forward to another adventure
